I have a freshly rebuilt stock 2003 lq9. I'm looking to do a high compression all motor street car. Car will probably see the track twice a year. I was wonder where that would put me around compression wise and if i should get them milled and to what? After my heads are chosen (pretty sure it'll be these but im open to ideas) ill be having a cam specd out by predator. here is a list of what the car has:

102 fast set up, tsp 100mm maf, 104mm lid, full exhaust with bolt ons, and converter.

Not worried too much about hp numbers but would like to see a low 11 high 10 second pass out of it. Thanks a lot

I also do not want to run into ptv clearance problems. I don't want to flycut

Sorry to be slow to respond to your PM. Definitely look at the 227s and the 237s are too big for the stock LQ9. The 227s have a laid over valve angle so you can get away with a pretty sizable cam with out having to flycut.

Keep us posted - would like to see a H/C LQ9 run 10's but not sure you will get there without loosing a LOT of weight.

Um sorry but I'd go with some tfs 225's if you want to stay cathedral.

Yeah tfs are definitely something I have been considering. Ive just seen so many of these applications I want to do something a little different. Seen a couple of these set ups and they run pretty decent. we shall see I'm still waiting on a few other parts. And litle, u ever go to strats or anywhere like that? I'm from the st Charles area

What chamber size do you need? Also do you plan on cutting the pistons? this will better tell us your p/v constraints so we can select the best possible head for getting you compression & flow!!

My old set up went 10.79 at 127 on the motor. Car weighed 3700 with me in it. Ported 5.3 heads, T-rex cam, th400 with a 4000 stall. High 10's can happen on a stock bottom end 6.0. It was a Lq9 and I did flycut .020. 11.2 :1 C.R.
