Guys,
Can't seem to make up my mind if i want to drive my car to Texas or ship it? I know if i drive both my car and wifes i should get under 600 for both cars. I just dont really wanna drive my fbody 1100 miles. I have called around i have found a few places that will transport it for 700. Just wondering did you guys drive your cars or did you ship it? Anybody hate driving your fbody?

A long drive won't be bad. I drive my T/A from Barksdale to Long Island and back once a year, and the drive is never uncomfortable, and deffinetly fun... up untill you get real tired, but thats the nature of such a long drive, not the cars fault. I wouldn't waste the money on the car being transported.

I put mine on a trailer from S. GA to San Antonio. My car only has 15,000 miles on it though. I didn't want to worry about rock chips and things of that nature. I'd transport if I was you.

I guess i am just really trying to baby my car..lol. It only has 52k on it right now. I will just end up driving it. Hopefully the 1100 mile drive wont be that bad.

I got mine transported from NM to CA twice , I understand our cars are meant to be driven. But with all the rock chips you get , and the possibility of getting a rock thrown at your winshield (hit me x2) sucks and I think gas should be about 180-250 depending on gas prices and the way you drive .. So I always just spent 500$ and waited like 4 days for my car to get to me .. And never any issues and it kept my miles low and my car Looking mint :) just IMO

Another vote for transport here, but my suspension beats me to death and my alignment keeps you on you toes. Anything over 500 miles is brutal.

I just finished another trip from NY to Louisiana yesterday. Did about 1600mi of driving. Amazingly, and after cleaning the car i noticed no new rock chips, and only filled up 5 times on the way, and a 6th when i arrived. The drive isn't bad, and it's nice to travel long distance seeing all the scenery and seeing the reactions of people in different states when you roll up to the gas station and food places with a nice car. If you choose to drive it, it'll be a nice experience.

Thanks guys!!
Well i am just gonna suck it up and make the drive..lol. Trying to not get stuck in traffic with a cammed car..lol.
But i was just being too picky on my car. I figure why lose 700 for a transport when i can get 600 for driving both my cars..

as long as the highway isnt crowned too bad a long drive in my fbody would be great. esp now that my exhaust is hooked up. but the road crowning really pulls my car and i am constantly holding the car straight.

im going to be doing a similar move.. moving from NJ to OK when i get back from south korea, i was told they wouldnt ship a POV unless you or your wife were hurt/pregnant, meaning unable to drive, and you have 2 vehicles. so tell her to break her arm or knock her up lol me on the other hand have a truck so my gto will be going on the back of a flat bed and im going to be towing it the whole way there. my 1700 mile trip wont be that bad tho because im going to make a pit stop at my mothers in VA for a day or 2 then another in nashville, then the long haul into OK.. just remember by reg your only allowed to drive what 350miles a day? so use that to your advantage..
but if it was just me... I would love to drive my goat cross country, well besides the gas prices. and i have driven many of my fbody up and down the east cost many times with no issues.. road trips are always funner in a fbody
