I'm currently looking for and at 2000 T/A convertibles. I've found a exceptionally clean dark blue 2000 with 80K miles. Owner is representing that it's a wS6. It has the sticker on the back and WS6 wheels but after reading these forums looks like could add those from aftermarket sources. Is there a sure fire way to confirm it's a factory WS6?
Thanks experts!!!!

vin #, and also the codes on the inside of the door jam, if it's a true ws6, it will have ws6 as one of the codes.

It won't show up in the vin unless you actually look up the whole thing but the rpo build code on the door will tell.

The only way to tell if it is a true WS6 is by looking at the RPO codes. You can take the VIN to a dealership and have them run it and they'll print off the RPOs also

Rpo codes ws6 and ws9 must bothe be there. Ws9 is the code for the ls1 and the ws6y makes it a true ws6

Now just makee sure the vin on the rpo code sticker matches the vin plate on the car. So easy to change a sticker or a door

WS9 is for the Formula conversion, all V8 cars will have the "LS1" RPO code
All three of these codes need to be on the sticker for a true WS6 Trans Am
WS9, Y82 and WS6

TA Verts will have Y84 instead of Y82. Unless its one of those rare Formula Vert WS6s, it'll have W66 instead of Y82 or Y84.

I'm used to talking about the T-Top cars, lol
