ory or catted with my settup
Right now I have a slp lm2 catback and I plan on getting the texas speed 1 7/8 longtubes. Just wondering if I got the ory would that be crazy loud and be really annoying crusing on the highway ? Right now just the catback its not too loud with my stock manis and cats. But if not then I will go with the ory and save myself 200 bucks. We don't do smog testing and I know people that inspect my rides soo that's not an issue. Just getting pulled over everyday and bad highway drone is.

go with no cats and a ORY. I got the bbk LTs + ORY paired with a LM1, its easy to keep it quiet...just not as fun.
sucks doing things twice, so go cat-less (my opinion)
ps: in 6th on the highway its not that loud. Example: 80mph at 2k rpm isnt that loud, actually similar to when I had just a LM1 catback

If I was in your position I would buy the ORY and buy a Magnaflow bullet or Borla bullet to put in the lm1's place and you'll still come out cheaper than cats, still have noise, but have a really good tone as well.

If you don't mind paying the extra money for the catted Y, I would get it. I dont know what some of these guys are talking about when they say you're going to lose performance with a catted Y. I can't imagine it would be anything signifigant until you are making big boy power..
It is signifigantly more expensive, but I personally think the sound on LS1 cars is a million times better. If I had a dollar for every time I've heard an ls1 fbody with an ORY that sounded like ****, I would just give you the extra $200 or so for the catted Y to save me a headache.
I ran TSP 1 3/4" headers, TSP catted Y, and LMII on my '99 SS. If you don't want anything too loud, that setup would be absolutely perfect for you. I, personally, like a little bit louder exhaust. For that reason I went with a catted Y and LMI this time around. However, the tone of the catted Y and LMII was perfect.

Done right itll be a clean and mean sound in the end. Id do a magnaflow race series muffler. Good deep tone and stick with leavin out the cats. You may not notice it now but if you ever plan on making any major mods to get "big boy power" then youll end up cuttin em off anyway then youre left with junking them because idk about everywhere else but its illegal to sell used cats in north and souuth carolina so id save the money and leave those out of the equation from the start

Well like i said that might just be for some states. I live in sc and work as a state inspector in nc so i know for sure its illegal in both here but i think its a state not a federal law
