General Maintenance & Repairs - Rod knock

Whats the longest anybody has seen an engine last with rod knock? Doesn't have to be LS1 specific.

i personally didnt see it... But... my grandfather had a 390 ford... (fe motor) and it knocked bad for three years b4 it finally seized and sent it thru the side...
