So on my way to a car meet, go to turn on the A/C for my gal, and I hear some horrible grinding noise coming from the engine.
Pull over, and there's sparks flying out from the pulley area of the compressor. Awesome.
Go and swing by a Discount auto parts to get some bug cleaner since we're dealing with Love Bugs here in Florida... and I catch a screw, complete with washer, while pulling into the parking lot...
Turn car off, go inside to get spray, come out... Car won't start.
Clutch safety switch blew fuse, and I guess it needs to be replaced now, too.
Get to Car meet 5 minutes later, pull in, and have to put on spare wheel/tire.
Go to leave, and have to bridge the starter relay to start car...
Kind of Embarassing day for the V today.
Ordered a new A/C compressor from Rock Auto, and have a new clutch switch coming in to the local autoparts store.
Stupid Cadillac    Damn you, GM!

At least you didn't need a flatbed.

Wow, quite unfortunate. I found out that I might need to pull my PS head for a broken header bolt flush with the heads. Just put on headers and I'm pretty sure I have a nasty exhaust leak from that very last bolt. Sounds like a tap tap tap valve noise. :(

I had a second job for almost a year. My miata never got fixed properly, and had to drive a jalopy around for a while, it was embarassing, and still kinda is :) I do miss the extra money, though :(

I hate that sound :( Just the tapping noise from hydraulic lifters makes me go insane!
Thanks for the well wishes, guys. Just another day in the life of me :P

Ordered a new AC Delco A/C compressor from Rock Auto...
Futzed with the clutch switch today, and somehow it's magically working now. Added a small rubber shim behind the switch until I can get a new one Monday night.
That A/C compressor doesn't look to difficult to do. Should be a lot of fun for me this upcoming weekend!

I too got a screw. The other day, I was breaking down fence panels in the driveway & loading them into my buddy's truck. He said 'get a magnet to get all the nails, so you won't get any in your tires'. After we were done, I swept up & heard no metal on cement.
Leave for work the next day & about 10mins down the road, I get a low tire pressure warning. Stop at the local lil tire shop fix a flat place. Pull off the tire that gave me the warning. Guy tops it off with some pressure, dunks it in the tank. No bubbles. Says "no leaky mister". Puts the tire back on. I get in, start her up & it's STILL saying low.
It's then I realize that NTB didn't put the same rim on the same spot & my TPMS are out of whack! He goes around each tire while I'm watching the gauge to figure out which is which. Realize it's the left rear, not left front. Pop it off & tada, there's the screw. Still though, no screws in any of the fence panels.

I ordered a new Clutch Safety switch from Discount Auto, Got a call this morning that it's in.
Go to pick it up, "Hey yeah, here's your reverse backup switch!"
"Uh, that's not what I ordered..."
"Yup, says right here, backup switch!"
"Uh, I ordered, specifically, a clutch safety switch. How do you get reverse backup switch from that?"
"uh... we can have it here tomorrow..."
"Nope, gonna order it from Rock Auto for $25. Have a nice day."
Jerkoffs.

I have the EXACT same problem with mine. Bolt closest to firewall. I've been putting it off fixing but its really bugging me. I wanted to wait until I can afford a cam/head swap, but I don't think I can wait any longer.
