Default MSD Wires

Yesterday I just put my 8.5 MSD wires on short coil ones to replace the old factory ones, but I am worried that they will melt or burn next to my headers are they that strong for heat or do I need to get covers for them? If anybody had this problem or has msd wires also let me know, I do not want to melt these wires.

as long as they don't touch they'll be just fine. I had the same worry, and i went out of my way to bend (angle) the boots/wires away from the headers... never an issue.

You could also get some of those spark plug wire insulating boots that are made out of that header-wrap type material. Those seem to work pretty good.

yeah I saw few guys with little half sleeve covers on them, extra protection. Thanks for letting me know man. I readjusted mine so they have a distance from my headers. Thats good, hope mine last three years also!

If you're scared, get the boots. I've never had a problem with them though.
