Everyone around here says Bristol is a slow track that if you go anywhere else you'll go quite a bit faster. I'm curious as to how true this is. I'm not sure the DA or if I did I wouldn't know if it was good or not lol but if anyone has ran here and then ran somewhere else how much faster did you go?

I've been going to Bristol since 1981. Old track then the new Bruton Killer Facility now.
The DA there is higher than sea level tracks. Every car is different and handles da differently...but a higher da is slower for every car if traction etc is the same.
Same year Bristol vs Rockingham....Rock was 0.4 quicker and 4 mph faster. Now Bristol is around 3500 to 4500ft. I've seen high fives in August. I've seen 2500 on few rare days. Killer facility. DA is what it is.

I'm not local to that area but raced there several times and can almost count on being about a tenth slower. Not the worst air and DA I have ever seen but I don't think the DA has ever been below 3000ft when I've raced up there.
If you go in some of the cooler months it won't effect it that bad but when it's hot sloooooow.

The last three times I have been to bristol the weather has been 70-83 and DA from 2400-3600. Thats been within the last month-n half. Track temps from 80 after the sun goes down to 125 in the heat of the day. I havent raced other tracks so i dont have a comparison, but i know its slower.
Tom- the Va lazer was sweet, I didnt see you to say hello but the even looked great!
Are you changing you setup or just havent gotten your car out?

Hey, I'm glad you like the race. Competition gets stronger every year.
I totally took my car apart over the winter to refresh it. Finished tuning this afternoon...should be at the track soon! Looked like this for a few months...
