im going to go look at a 2002 black on black automatic ws6 this week. Only has 35,000 miles on it, Its a 2 owner car and has been grage kept, needs nothing, no accidents, only mod is a borla cat-back. Paint and interior looks very nice with basically no blemishes.

How much should i be looking to purchase this car for?

Around 12,000, but majority of members on here think our cars ain't worth shit so they prob say lower.

I'd offer 13-14K

^ I agree, but I just don't think everyone else on here values them that high. That's actually exactly what I paid for mine with 39,000 and just a few more mods 3 yrs ago.

i think it could be worth 14-15k, and it being an 02 and black on black it would carry on its value. Any more opinions?

You are absolutely right if the title is clean and no Carfax issues.
Don't worry what the naysayers think about values. The owners that put down our F-bodies are mostly short term owners and generally have lousy cars that aggravate them, so therefore in their minds, all F-bodies are no good and not worth anything. You won't see these owners here in a few years. I've seen this pattern on many sites, not just here.

Alright well looked at the car yesterday and its very clean and straight as an arrow, it does however have a little cam in it and the seller does not know the specs. Its still on the stock stall though so its clearly not big at all. The car also has a full exhaust and some BMR suspension stuff (torque arm, sway bars)

So does this hurt or help the value of the car? and it seems to run very well eventhough the check engine light is on which id think is from the rear cats.

For many people a modified engine, no matter how small, reduces the value. I would not pay top $$ for any modified car unless it was extremely documented by a respected shop. The SES light signals a big red flag and only a dealership would suffice (for me) to read the codes before I even considered buying the car. If it is just the cats, the cats are no longer under GM warranty so whatever it cost to fix, whether cheap or expensive, is going to be out of pocket. This car has definitely gone down in value unless these issues have been properly explained and verified.
