New LS1 Owners - Newbie Tech - 2000 T/A Headlight Motor Polarity Issue

Hey all... I just put a brand new headlight motor in the passenger side of my 2000 WS6. Everything is set up, arms behind the correct stops, motor hooked up correctly, and this still happens. Basically when I turn the headlights on, the driver's side comes up and turns on and the passenger side goes down, with the headlamp still on. When I turn the know to the "off" position, both lights turn off but the passenger side comes up. I was told this may be a malfunction in the polarity in the motor, but it could be fixed rather than taking it back to AutoZone to get another one. I really don't feel like taking this thing all the way back out if I can fix it as it sits. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Here is a video of what it's doing:

With the headlights off, manually turn the one that's up down and that SHOULD fix it.

Tried that. Just continues to do the same thing

I've never had or heard of this issue. It might suck but you'll probably just have to return it. If I were you, if you still had your old motor, I would put the brass gears in. I use did this not too long ago and haven't had a problem since, and they'll never go out again!

Might just have to do that. Brass gears can be found on eBay right?

Just switch the wires going to the motor...instead of black to black and green to green...go green to black...problem solved

Yeah man, it's $100 total and you'll never have problems again.

This is what I've been hearing through some other forums. Think I may try that route.

its a game of disconnection of the motors.

If you are absolutely positive the arm is on the right side of the stops then switch the wires. I have only seen this problem though when the arm was on the wrong side of the stops.

Switched the wires and then the motor didn't move at all. Reconnected the wires and back to square one. I'm starting to really hate this thing lol
