I have an after market radio ken wood excelon jbl power series components and 2 jl12 w6s in the back with a 1800 watt mono amp and 600x4 for th components. I have had this set up for years and recently when I drive the car the head unit randomly turns off and then comes back on and gos back and forth. The other day I notice that when the head unit turns off the windows will not go up or down and when the radio comes back on they work. So I pulled everything apart and checked the wiring and fuses in the car everything was fine.

As I was sitting there trying to get the radio to come back on I was pissed so I hit the steering wheel and everything came back on for a few mins then I hit again and it turned off. Has anyone seen this or had this problem.

PS. I have steering wheel controls but they are not hooked up nor have they been for about 6 years and have never had an issue.

If the wheel controls arnt hooked up then they are probably not the problem. Do a search for BCM SOLDERING. Mine was doing the same thing and I stumbled upon a thread that had info on soldering a spot in the BCM. So I tried it and its been working fine since.

I just tried the search and it was the first one that came up. I would link it if I knew how.

BCM = Body Control Module. It is not in the column, it's under the dash behind the glove box.
