Okay so I have a sbc 350 standard bore in my 91 s10. Heres a quick list of whats done now(yes its a pig).
5.7L STD 350 4bolt
Scat steel* crank
5.7" I-Beam/X-Beam rods
KB Cast flat-top pistons
Edelbrock Performer RPM Hydraulic flat tappet cam 234in. 244exh. .488in. .510exh. w/1.5rr
Dart Iron Eagle heads 180cc intake runners, not positive on combustion chamber either 64cc or 72cc
Dual valve springs
1.6 comp roller rockers
Victor jr. intake
Holley 650cfm carb(upgrading to 750cfm once new cam is picked)

Cam is complete junk with this setup(long story on why I installed it). Needs a new cam/ lifter set to match the rest of the setup. Not changing heads or intake, just cam and lifters, maybe rockers to 1.5 if highly suggested. Looking for a great mid range but still have that low end power but doesn't die off in the top until 6500rpm. Rough idle. Truck is street driven/cruised but will be raced at the track as well on the street so keep this in mind. So far i've considered the Comp Cams Magnum 12-244-4 294S Solid flat tappet. Also looked at the XE284H cam by comp cams also.

Can't beat the Comp Thumper Series for streetable "rough idle" with low end. IMHO, ditch the flat tappet cams. They don't compare with the rollers and with today's oil, keeping them alive is a pain.

Right on, I'll for sure look into the Thumper series. How are they performance wise, and how will they match up to my heads?

Definetly go with the smaller chamber. These cams have a fair amount of overlap. You need the compression or the motor will be sluggish. Don't over cam. For instance, the Big Muther Thumper is NOT for you.
