I got my Dyno day at StraightLine in New Lenox Il tomorrow. They have a Mustang Dyno and the Tuner will be Mike.
I have an
*Ls3 Stroker with a Scat crank,Eagle H-beam rods and Manley pistons with -2cc valve reliefs
*C5r timing chain
*Morel linkbar street lifters
*comp 7.375 pushrods
*LPE polished and ported Ls3 heads with 65cc chambers to put my compression at 12.0
* cam is a LSR lobe by comp and it is a 243/259 .624/.624 114+3
*FAST 102 with the runners matched to the heads by my friend chriss1313
*Nick williams 102TB
*Stock Ls1 injectors resized to 65lbs (when using these injectors in an Ls3 Intake you'll need the narrower orings. and a few washers for the fuel rail to be able to get bolted down.
*kooks 2"primaries with a 3.5" collector with a kooks ypipe and dual lowprofile DMH cutouts to a magna flow C/B.
The car will be SD tuned and it has a 3" D/S thru a 9" and 4.11 gears with an M6.
I'm hoping I can get 550 as a number I was trying to acheive and that Ill be able to get a 10 sec slip with full weight, believe me Im not one of those guys that want a dyno queen in the garage, but it was just a goal to hit.
What are you guys predicting?
Thanks
Zeke

Hell no Mike from Straightline, I don't want to throw his last name out there. He's been tuning a very long time.

Dj! No love hu? Lol
I'd much rather hope for less and receive more in return lol.. Just trying to be realistic based on what others have made and doing it on a Mustang is like 15-30 less than a Dynojet most the time so who knows. Sucks to get your hopes up... I figured I'd make over 600 with my LS7 based on others but that didn't happen.

Lol I know right? It's been almost 2 years in the making I've gotten all the good parts with no cut corners (do it once and do it right) method. I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst lol. I really just don't want any hiccups or problems anymore , just my car back especially for the summer and running good!

I predict 490-500 whp. I have a very simular setup. I have a LS3 stroker running a ls7 4.125 crank diamond pistons running a 5cc hump. SDPC Cnc ls3 heads. 12.9:1 compression. Fast 102 tb and intake running fast fuel rails with 60lb injectors. 1 7/8 primaries into dual 3 in mandrel bend exhaust running through a set of straight through mufflers and a x pipe. Car put down 505whp on our mustang dyno. Car has ran 10.52@135mph. Car weights in at 2700lbs. Ran a 1.58 60 with old drs.
This year I ported the intake and reworked the air intake. Hoping to see 520 whp and a 9 second time slip.
Forgot to add. I am also running a Comp LSR cam
The cam number is 54-474-11

I was on the phone with an LsX tech for a few days back and forth and we came up with that spec and picked the LsR lobes

Driveshaft eh.. you've got me wondering what's up with it.. I thought my PST ds was out of round but it was the yoke and bearing caps not centered causing a drive line vibration. Hope you get it solved asap.

Sounds like a great well thought out build. Regardless of what it makes, I'm sure it will be a blast to drive.

Yeah being on a mustang dyno, Id guess 480-500 rwhp... 440-460 rwtq.
As most have said, its just a number... go out to the track and see what it can really do!

Subscribing for results. I am building a 441 with ls3 heads, (wegner motorsports ported) Sleeved ls3 block, ls3 intake, and the same cam. A friend of mine just got done with a GTO and 441 ended up making 520, smaller cam, but has stock h-pipe with resonator, thinking that is the problem. Very curious on your results

Well fellas here is what happens when using a Spohn, I contacted them and I told them what happened and I sent the pictures you see below and the you'll see their response. I ordered this d/s through the ws6store and as you can see I ordered the one that applies to me. Spohn's defense is you should of measured and that strapping a car on the dyno causes "stress" well no kidding but more that being on a street? Really? Well then if I have to measure why would they sell their d/s's as stock lengths? And ready to ship? Or th400's or 4L60's or power glides ? If you still have to measure?! I also called PST abd strange this morning and they said they DO NOT make theirs shorter! They both said they make it to exact sizes this Now I'm out a Trans with no days off because of these NATO clowns and All cops have to be on the streets or close by! All I wanted was to have my car ready by memorial day weekend to celebrate it with my family!
What do you guys think?
From tech@spohn.net
The output shaft on your transmission broke, it's actually a very common occurence when strapped down to a chassis dyno. A chassis dyno places a lot of stress on the drivetrain.

It had nothing to do with your driveshaft. The driveshaft is exactly as it should be from your pictures. They are supposed to be a bit shorter than the factory driveshaft, you need a little more slip yoke travel for high performance applications. This is how we have built them for 13 years and how any performance driveshaft company builds them. With that said it is always the installer's responsibility when installing any driveshaft on any car to check for proper engagement, etc. before driving the vehicle.
It was just a matter of the stress the chassis dyno put on your transmission, it happens unfortunately.

This is what kills me!
It's not the vendors fault but why would Spohn advertise like this?

That is bullshit, you cant tell me that launching at the track with a 6k clutch dump is less stress then strapped on the dyno. I have a pst shaft and it has taken many a launch with my 402 on spray and never had an issue.

Their comments are total BS. Although it doesn't get you out of the woods. Everything that is bought has to be checked because you can't count on anyone anymore. Not trying to add insult to injury just stating the facts. Chalk it up to lesson learned cause you won't forget anytime soon. Cut your ties with spohn and go with a PST. Sorry man, it sucks I've been there.

Lol recheck the runner length and combustion chamber and also check spring pressures, BUT DON'T put them on the Dyno because it will create stress on the valvetrain lol
What a joke!
Unfortunately lilj it won't get fixed anytime soon bud, I got a kid in college and 3 more I gotta support plus the wifey plus the mortgage on a popo salary=hurry up and wait!

Just from reading some of the responses, I won't be buying anything Spohn in the future. Instead of taking care of the customer, companies end up screwing themselves in the long run when word like this gets around.
Good luck with getting the car fixed. Hope it puts up some strong numbers!
