Default LY5 questions

Hey guys. I have a '04 LM7 and a '05 LQ4. I plan to build up the LQ4, but until then, I'm going to boost the LM7. I have a chance to buy a LY5 pretty cheap ( as a spare), but I'm wondering about what it takes to make it work like the LM7.

I'm using a front mount distributor and a carb, so the reluctor ring is no problem. I plan to put the 3 bolt cam into the LY5, along with lifters. Is there anything else I have to do to make it a "drop in replacement" to the LM7? Will the LM7 timeing gears and chain work in the LY5 block? I'm not sure if the LY5 has DOD or not, are there oil passages I need to block?

Sorry for all the newbie questions, I tried the search before I started this thread, but I couldn't find specific answers since I'm using a distributor and carb. I figure it should make it easier, but not sure about the LY5 compatibility.

Thanks for your replies.
