I have had the pleasure of working with Allan Futral this year building my new race engine for my 2001 Camaro. Listed below are the specs on the car and engine.

Car - 2001 Camaro
Cage - Custom Funny Car - certified to 8.50
Chassis - built by Chris Watkins - CNA Performance - Kansas City
Car Weight - 3250 with me in car and full of Sunoco 112
Engine - LQ9 - 4.065 bore
Crank - Callies - 4.0 stroke
Rods - Forged Compstar
Pistons - Diamond Custom Dome (14.0 compression)
Heads - Mast LS3
Intake - Mast Single Plane 4500
Throttle Body - Accufab 4500
Cam - Custom by Alan - hydraulic roller -252/262 - .685/.685 ??? on LSA
Converter - Neal Chance 5400
Rear - Dana 60 - 4.11 Ratio
Transmission - Turbo 400 with Transbrake
Tuning - Futral Motorsports
Tires - MT Drag Slicks
Shift Point - 7250 RPM
Fuel - Sunoco 112

Allan and his team spent the time to build a high quality product and I'm very happy with the results. I have attached a few pictures for your viewing pleasure and will have new time slips later this weekend.

As with all premium race engine builds, Allan always takes the car to the track prior to delivery to his client. If you are considering a new race engine for your car or just an updgrade to your hotrod, I would encourage you to talk with Futral Motorsports. The Futral team will be happy to guide you through your build and produce a high quality product that you will be happy to show to your friends on LS1Tech (If you can't tell, I'm excited!!!)

Again, thanks to Allan, Charley, & Dallas for their time with the project and the update calls. Great Job.

LS1 Fans - I plan to campaign the car for the season and then offer for sale early this fall. I plan to have CNA Performance (hopefully the money tree has a good harvest) to build a new tube frame 2012 camaro during the winter and have Allan spec out a Mozez headed beast to power the car next season. STAY TUNED, and if you have interest in the the Camaro, just send me a message.

Thanks,

CoopZ06

Bad ass for sure!!!

What are your goals as far as E.T.? I think you will be testing the cert on that cage very soon and that the 8.50 limit won't be hard to reach on it!

Sick setup. Question though...is the 7250 shift point simply for longevity's sake? It makes the power to 7500!

MikeG - We are limiting the shift point to 7250 and probably going to shift at 7000 due to being a bracket car and the desire to sell the car in the fall. Given we want to build a new car this fall, I wouldn't feel right running the motor at 100% given plans to sell the car this fall.

I was a custom part that Wizard Racing did for us while the hood was going on.

9.6@138? Just a guess.

Team - first pass was 9.82 @ 139.51. 3800RPM launch and shifts at 7200. Car went through the traps at 7000RPM's so we are changing the rear gear to 4.33, will be launching at 4500RPM's and shifting at 7500RPM. We believe these changes should make the car a consistant 9.60 at 141. I will post up additional video's and time slips when final changes are made.

Thanks,
