I just got my 35th Stripes and want to know if there is any problem clear coat over it ?

to make it like paint not stickers , as it cheaper and wont take time :)


and if someone done it , how much it last ? pix ?

I did this exact think on a 79 T/A I had. After I put all the decals on it I decided to put 2 more coats of clear over them.

Came out great. Made the decals glossy too. I did this in 1992 and sold the car in 1999 still looked great.

On another note I would not be the poor bastard to get all that crap off for another repaint...lol

if the stripes get hot enough from the sun it might bubble up... better just paint them on and have no worries

i agree with ^^^ however ive NEVER seen painted 35th anni stripes before....Thats gonna take a very talented painter and a talented wallet too!

Never heard of decals bubbling up from the sun. Fading sure but bubbling? Maybe it is some very thin vinyl or something?

Yes it can be done very easily. I would suggest using a clear without reducer though. the reducer will cause issues alot of the time. I recommend using ppg shopline speed clear. it lays down really smooth and dries real quick and is very good for painting over stickers
