Smile need help with ly6 lifter noise. PLEASE.

installed a ly6 6.0 in 98 camaro using the lingenfelter conversion, lunati 60531- VHR 227 camshaft, intake duration is 227@ 50. exhaust is 238@ 50, lift is intake .583 exhaust is .600. using the matching springs. stock push rods. stock lifters. took to the tuning shop they tuned it but when we picked it up. they said that the lifters were bad. after the car warmed up the drivers side lifters were very very noisy. when the engine was cold they were quiet but when it warmed up it was very noisy on the drivers side. so we installed new ls9 caddy lifters, comp 7.425 pushrods. the same noise is still coming from the drivers side valve train. when the engine is cold this thing is quiet as a mouse let it run about 7-8 minutes the temo gets to about 170 and the drivers side valve train goes nuts, oil pressure is about 40-50 idling when warm. THANKS FOR ANY SUGGESTIONS!!

I take it you deleted the VVT. Who checked for proper PR length?

the vvt was deleted not shure on the pushrods. they said that the liftters had about 1 turn of preload on them.

What did you measure for piston-valve clearance on the driver's bank and did you actually check for pushrod preload / correct pushrod length? Did you check the valve spring installed height & coil bind?

Pull the valve cover and inspect things. Make sure you aren't contacting any valve retainers or have any funny wear marks anywhere. Check valve tip sweep. Make sure the rockers are tightened properly.

Did you shave the block or heads? Replace either head gasket? Have mismatched head gaskets?

Is the sound coming from every cylinder on the driver's side or just one / isolated?

Default Get a...

stethoscope, check for noisy fuel injectors, they often sound just like bad lifters...available for about 5 or 6 bucks from Harbor Freight tools.
