Default 02 Z28 m6 w/58k miles, 12's @ 113.5

I have a white 02 Z28 with 58k miles. The good, the car runs great, shifts nice and gets great gas mileage on the highway (31.25 MPG best measured). The bad, it has a rebuilt title and has some body damage on rear quarter and passenger rear quarter has a little rust in wheel well lip. The car has ran 12.83 @ 113.5 w/2.10 60ft on crappy radial tires.

Here are my options:

1. Sell the car as she is
2. Fix the car (probably ~$500-$700) and sell it
3. Part the car out

Here are the aftermarket parts on the car and stock:

2" Kook's
4" Single Exhaust out back
Fast 90/90 Fast Setup
BMR Tubular lca's (non-adjustable)
FTRA
LS1 Engine/58k
T56 Trans/58k (assuming stock clutch, never checked)
Poly Engine Mounts
Poly Trans Mount
M6 Harness and ECU tuned for engine if bought as whole

Has entire interior and all lenses are in great condition.

I can grab pics to display the damage. I'm only selling as I bought a roller and want to build a turbo car.

So, what would you do?

Sell as a whole with only 58k and being a 10 year old car. Fixing it and selling it for the right money will yeild you bigger money in the end. Just my opinion

A modded car with a re-built title isn't going to bring much unfortunately. The buyer's market will be extremely thin at any price. I have no idea what you can get for your parts but you will be lucky to get $5,000 for the car 'as is'. You can always try. You never know. Maybe someone doesn't care about the title and just wants a race car. Best of luck!

Thanks guys.

I'm right in the middle and see points on both sides. I figure that I should be able to part it out for ~$5500 or so. The rebuilt title really hurts on resale value (bought it like that), but it was nice and ran/drove great.

The only reason i'm selling is b/c I bought a full suspension/rear roller that I couldn't pass up.

Any other comments?

You may be in luck if you're close enough! Zip?

How bad's the damage?

I am looking for a car with the following (pasting in my list):
-Capable of running minimum mid/high 12's or better consistently, provable by timeslip or dyno graph.
-Prefer Automatic, would consider M6. If auto, must have locking torque converter, high stall is fine but must lock on highway.
-Must get 20+ MPG highway.
-Must have working A/C, Heat, and Cruise Control.
-Can be missing CATS but must have the rear O2's tuned out. Prefer stainless exhaust, or stock exhaust (since it's stainless from factory)
-No CEL, must have a solid tune if modified.
-Must Start/Idle/Run close enough to a normal car that anyone can drive it without special instructions.

How about throwing up some pics?

I don't mind the R-title as long as I can do a carfax and can see that there were a lot of miles put on since the R-title, giving evidence that there's no serious drivability problems with it.

Evven with damage I'd likely do at least $6k (maybe more if it's nice otherwise) for a fast runner with body damage.

Thanks!!

PM Sent.

It's just a shame to have to consider parting this car out It drives excellent and I drive it everywhere, but I can't have a drag car, a turbo street car and this one lol.

2" Kook's $800 ish
4" Single Exhaust out back IDK maybe $200 if its nice
Fast 90/90 Fast Setup $1000 all day long see them going for as high as 1100.
BMR Tubular lca's (non-adjustable) $80 bucks
FTRA IDK
Poly Engine Mounts
Poly Trans Mount mounts are not worth to much

LS1 Engine/58k
M6 Harness and ECU tuned for engine $2500 as a drop out

T56 Trans/58k (assuming stock clutch, never checked) 1-1200 range with the bell housing etc. You should be able to do that easy if its functions well.

Your up to almost 6K there with out touching the car, interion condion is nice its worth money. Now the time and headach is that worth the cash you will make? Rebuilt title destroys the value, I dont think you can get 6k for it as is.

Ill jump on the kooks if you do part it out and they are race style.

Very similar to what I was thinking too. I'll definitely let you know about the headers if I do (they are race style).

Thanks for the list,
Josh

Haha, i'm trying to have a little more self control and the wife wouldn't be too thrilled. My parents would normally have ~20 cars in various states around (but they live on an acre of land, so it's a bit easier to package them than my cul de sac )
