I have a 2000 z28 camaro. My current mods are SLP cold air intake and slp LT headers. I'm thinking of buying a tuner for my car. Do you think ill notice significant gains with the tune? Also which is better Diablosport predator flash tuner for ls1 (u7198) or the SLP cutom tuned diablo2sport 2 for ls1? Thanks!

i think if its already tuned you might gain & lose (TQ / HP Wise) basing on the tune and that only

neither! you would be better off sending your ecu off to Frost and have him do a mail order tune. the diablo tune and the slp diablo tune are ok tunes but still very conservative you will notice some difference but not much the only cool thing about the diablo is that you can read the codes if you get a ses light, in my opinon not worth the money and i say this from experience i have a slp diablo tune, but its no longer installed in my car i had that tune till i did my heads and cam and then i got a dyno tune. alot of newbies my self included when i first started out, fall into the slp trap thininking that they are the best cause they did the firehawks for GM so one would think they are the best and dont get me wrong they do have good products and they are a good company but depending on what your looking for horse power wise their are better and cheaper options

The money you're spending on one of those handhelds could go towards sending your computer to a real capable professional tuner instead. Other than adjusting fan speed, shift points, etc., etc., I will never understand why some people insist on using those, they just don't seem like they are worth the money to me

Same as above; neither.
Get a ls6 intake if you don't have one yet, and then get a full Dyno tune. Forget the handheld.

Some of the handheld tuners are ok it you know how to use them. I had a friend who used one and rented out a dyno for an hour and saw really good results. With that said the key is that you KNOW what your doing. There is a reason why people pay 2-5 hundred dollars for a tune (depending on mail order or dyno tune).
As long as you don't have a huge cam or anything your car will run fine. With that being said I would do any other mods that you want to do and then take it to a reputable shop and get a dyno tune.
