And wipe that crap off with a clean disposable towel. It will not just disolve like laquer thinner.

On an engine bay I would do this process twice.
With a clean towl wipe on real good
With another clean towel wipe off real good
Stuff will seem a little greasy just be sure to get it all off and don't touch with your bare hands where you will be painting after you do this.

Yup what jr said. Running a tack rag across the painting service just before painting will get any excess dirt off the surface also

Some engine bays are pretty dirty and greasy. Depending on how dirty it is you can go through quite a lot of wax and grease remover. I'll be painting mines soon and I'll be washing the engine bay real good with some good soap and warm water. Then once its all done and dry I'll finish it off with a disposable shop towel and wax and grease remover.
