Im looking to get a set of long tubes and y pipes, and I would like to know some brands that are recommended. I was looking and hookers but I would like to hear some feedback first. Thanks

do you have a budget? do you want race or emissions? do you want cats? are you looking for stainless/coated/painted? do you want 1 3/4 or 1 7/8?

I really don't have a budget, the car is used as a dd so I would need to pass emissions, I would prefer 1 7/8 and I would probably go for stainless.

Many F-body owners I know here in Austin go with Kooks. Coated or uncoated, these seem to be a "premium" header that many like. That is what I am going with when I get headers in the next 6 months or so.

Good luck!

I'ved heard of pacesetters being the cheapest and fit the best. Im about to find out how SLP's fit, along with the Y pipe.

Well thanks for all the input I was doing some research on the kooks and there are a lot of good reviews on them. But I will definitely look into texas speed as well

If i were in the market right now for some headers, i would strongly consider TSP 1 7/8 headers

TSP does make some nice headers. I went with pacesetter and the install with really smoothgrin everything bolted up quick and easy without any grinding or lifting on the motor there ory also fit up nice and tight.. got the whole set new for 360 so if your on a budget id look into that

You may also look at BBK headers.

ARH and Kooks are pretty much the top of the line headers.

Yep, kooks and ARH are the higher quality headers. I went with ARH on my truck and the headers were great. To save a little $$ i went with Texas Speed 1-7/8s for the camaro which are also nice.

I got the bbk headers for a good price. If I wasnt on a budget tho I'd get tsp 1 7/8 all day. Can't beat the price.

Like stated before, tsp does a great job for the price. If money is no option then kooks or arh. Although, you will have to use arh's y pipe with their headers. Slp headers hang a bit lower than most. Wouldn't be a problem for a stock ride height car. If you are just going to do full exhaust on a daily driver, I'd et hooker or tsp 1 3/4 with emission provisions and a matching y. Won't break the bank and will sound great with a catback.
