I'd have to say, it would depend on several things...I'm assuming you have an L76, so is the DoD still active, or is the delete kit installed? Are you setting up for track, street, or strip? Do you want boost as soon as you hit the throttle, or do you want a surge higher on your RPM band? There's several things to consider (as I'm sure you already know).

Having said that, everyone knows about Maggie's, Eaton's, and Prochargers, but not many people know about Air Power Systems. They actually have two set ups for the G8 along with other GM vehicles. Maybe it's something you could look into, and see if their price range fits your budget. Hope what little info I've provided was helpful.

Last I heard you can't get an APS system here in the US anymore. Most of the turbo G8 guys are running APS kits from before they stopped selling here in the states. There are a few people with custom turbo setups. I'm running a custom twin 62mm setup.

If you can find an APS kit, they're pretty good.

If you go onto APS's website, you can find multiple places that are designated distributors of APS turbo kits. Now whether or not these distributors are still selling APS kits for G8 is another matter. Here's the like for US distributors for domestic cars: http://www.airpowersystems.com/us_spec/dealers/domestic.htm.

Procharger or Maggie with a dod delete blower cam package and headers with a fuel system, supporting suspension and a proper tune

for aps i was told when i looked in to it with my g8 that they dont make the kits period. but if i had some time on my hands they could make one for me it would just be a little wait and probably a little extra pricey. try emailing aps.

I wanted to build a turbo kit like Vector did, single turbo located where the factory air box is. Problem is headers and how to run a 3" down pipe passed the steering shaft...

Is this inherent with all turbo kits or just single turbos in engine bay? The 09 GT I'm looking at has SLP headers already and I'm curious as to if I can twin turbo or need to install factories again.

I have two customers running Procharger kits with great luck on G8s. Pm me with any questions!

It's more of a problem when you want to run a large single in the engine bay. I run twins in the place of cats. I'm running 62mm with a 3" v-band outlets on the turbine side. I could easily run 3.5" or 4" if I need to.

You'd be better off switching back to factory manifolds for a couple of reasons.
1. If they are long tubes you'll have to move your turbos back, most likely to the back of the car unless you are able to mid mount under the car somewhere.

2. If you are running shorty headers, you don't really want to hang a 40-50lb turbo off of them. The tubular header will get weaker when it gets hot and over time you run a good chance of the header cracking or breaking. If you can brace your header/turbo so there's not as much weight pulling down on the header maybe it'll work, but personally I wouldn't trust it.

If you're going to run low mounted twins, use the factory cast manifolds. They are strong and will support good power.

Procharger or Maggie with a dod delete blower cam package and headers with a fuel system, supporting suspension and a proper tune

How much would this run depending on size or type of supercharger? And minus headers and suspension. How important is the fuel system build?

I vote Procharger. A buddy of mine has one locally and it seems to be running rather well and they just got the setup together recently. Once they get all the kinks out its going to be a beast.

Fuel is the most important part. If not engine will go boom.
Gauges and gauge pod will run about 1000.
D1 procharger with 3row Intercooler 6500.
Injectors-350-1000
Fuel system(bap or twin fuel pumps)-250-900
Dod delete and cam with springs and pushrods-1600
Tuning and labor-600-2500.
Total package may run you about $11000.

I have done all this over the course of a 2 years. And I am loving every second of it. I am currently out of fuel( fuel pressure too low at wot above 3rd gear with the bap), so I am saving for twin fuel pumps from squash performance.
Im at 577/540 at 9.5lbs of boost

The d1 kit with 3 row intercooler can be had for considerably less than $6500.

I agree, I sell it for a lot less. if anyone wants to see a copy of the ProCharger G8 installation instructions, send me an e-mail asking for them to brutespeed@gmail.com and I will e-mail them back to you. Bob
