high pressure oil pump need advise on high milage motor. has 10 - 15 # oil pressure at hot idle
when reved it only goes to 40 - 45 will a high pressure oil pump correct the problem ? or is a rebuild needed. if a rebuild is done what about the pistons will they still be usable or ?

compression i did and it was 170 - 180ish all around motor is very quiet.
thinking of new rings & bearings have a new texas ported ls6 oil pump
so maybe rings & bearings will do it?
