does all this improve the driving smoother? What differences does the bushings make too?

The bushings take the slop out of the suspension. I think I've replaced just about every bushing now. Front and rear radius rod bushings, front lower control arm bushings, rear inner and outer control arm bushings, swaybar bushings, swaybar endlink bushings, rear cradle bushings, Harrop rear diff cover.
The coilovers are adjustable with 30 different adjustments on the shocks, and the ride height can be adjusted as well. After the install, I had the coilovers set on 15 clicks - which was fun while taking the twisties, but way too harsh for just cruising. I can't imagine what 30 clicks would be like - I'd probably need to see the chiropractor afterwards. I've got it set on 10 clicks at the moment and that may still be a bit harsh for cruising.
It now has a much tighter suspension and the coilovers make it hug the road in the twisties. It feels like a high performance car now. It accelerates, turns, and brakes virtually flat. The trade off is an increase in road/tire noise, which I hope to address eventually with some sound deadening mods.

I got the Energy Suspension bushings online somewhere - I don't remember exactly but it was like $150 or so. The Pedders bushings (front and rear radius rod bushings) I got straight from Pedders.

I'm not a big fan of lowering the GTO too much. And I have WAY too many speed bumps and steep driveways to worry about around here.

Thanks. They are the Monaro VZ wheels. But I had them refinished in hypersilver (same type of finish as factory Mercedes Benz wheels) so they now have a metallic finish to them. And I retrofitted Pontiac Solstice centercaps to the wheels.

If you used the rear setup keep a eye on the springs, mine colapsed and I have seen others do the same. I'm running a 1/2 lowered spring now with the adjustable shocks

Yeah I'm having an issue with one side. I went ahead and ordered the 9kg rear springs from BC (the springs for the Pedders XA and BC Coilovers are interchangeable).
I have no idea why Pedders used 7kg rear springs on the GTO. That's WAY undersprung.

Thanks! On the springs... eh, I got such a killer deal on these coilovers with very low mileage on them, spending an additional $75 for rear springs isn't too bad.

Love those wheels. I agree on ride height not being too low. There isn't a lot of travel on the suspension to start with. Making the ride rock hard gets old really quickly. With a great deal coilovers are nice but most people with them really just end up at a set height and in that way they're no difference than regular springs. Lookin' good man.

Just the drag bags made my car ride noticably stiffer..
