I have a 99 5.7L LS1 Z28 Camaro and looking to put a new Cam, headers and probably a LS6 intake. Whats the best cam/headers set up I can use?

You can search the site and find a lot of information that will be helpful.
To get a answer, you need to post a lot more information: Budget, current mods, desired power level, do you want more top end power or low end torque, is car a daily driver, do you want a smooth (sleeper) idle or a louder choppy idle, other mods already done to car

yeah sorry about that I was in a hurry with the last post and didn't think it through. The Camaro is my daily diver and is close to stock: the exhaust and programming has been changed. As far as I know that has been it. I want to keep the smooth idle, more top end power and looking at a budget of around $2,000.
any help and suggestions would be nice.
-Thanks

$2,000 will cover the exhaust and intake. You'll need to save some more for the cam. What exhaust is on the car now ?

You'll need to get a Y pipe with the headers, are you keeping emissions ?

What labor can you do yourself? You can find a ls6 intake for 300 in the parts classifieds but obviously that does not include install labor. Tsp will be one of the best bets for new headers, or you can keep an eye out for nice used ones. Figure 250 -500 for the headers plus install cost. And 150ish for an off- road y pipe. And you need to decide if you want to be emissions " legal" or not. . Plenty of people are not but that's because they live in an area with no visual check or emission testing

Honestly I don't know what the emissions are.

Where do you live? When you get your tags /stickers every year do they do a vehicle check, or do u you just pay the renewal fee and leave?

We don't get emissions checks here, and I have an uncle who can do the labor for me.

It sounds like you haven't considered the supporting mods of a cam swap like injectors, high flow fuel pump, tuning, etc. I'm in the same boat as you, I want a cam swap badly but I know I need to have enough money to do it right. The good news about the exhaust is you can do that now and enjoy the noise while you save up for the cam swap.

What kind of parts are you looking for ? Best, middle of the road, cheapest ?
What part of the country do you live ?

Why would you need to upgrade your injectors and fuel pump for some boltons and a cam ?
