So I bought a 99 red auto ws6 with 48,000 miles on her a couple weeks ago and was looking to do a few mods too her. She's stock except for a aftermarket muffler I believe. I'm looking to make her a little faster and sound better I was thinking long tubes, exhaust, tune, and maybe a cutout. I'm open to do more mods maybe I really dunno yet for sure. The biggest thing is I don't wanna hurt mpg I realize its a sports car but when I baby it I wanna get decent mileage I dont want shit all the time. I sold my grand prix gxp and got this and love every second of it. Thanks for any help.

I also wanna try not adding too much power too where I'd have too worry about the rear. Whenever the tranny goes I will upgrade that for sure.

The best place to start is in the New LS1 Owners sub forum in the first section. Lots of good information on there.

I would suggest a lid, LT, ORY and a decent catback. You really shouldn't see a difference in the mpg with those. But you will get a nice bite of power.

on the power side a lid and exhaust are a good start. I would also recommend shocks and springs.

I have lt's, ory, and an electric cutout with the stock exhaust over the axle. By far the meanest sounding car ive ever driven. but at the same time i have the ability to close the cutout and baby the car when the cops are around or on a long drive without the drone. you wont regret getting a cutout and longtubes

Lid
LT's
ORY (depending on state laws where you are)
Catback
LS6 intake
ported TB

As far as suspension
Subframe connectors
rear lower control arms
LCA relocation brackets

Being an auto, the factory 10 bolt will actually hold up much better than if you were a 6M.

I grew with what has been stated above but if auto get a higher stall converter as well.

Curious - how much HP on average will the above add?????

I'm just like you, I super daily drive the car and wanted some good power out of it. So far I've got almost every bolt on and free mod done to the car and it's great. I've got long tubes, ORY, TSP Rumbler cat back, ported throttle body, ls6 manifold, FTP 98mm lid, SLP cold air, and soon to have a 25% under drive pulley. So far I haven't really noticed a decreased in gas mileage, or enough of one to make me regret doing all this lol.
