6.0 lq4 swap
Okay, so I'm thinking about ditching ye ole LT1 for something a little more modern and better design. I'm thinking about swapping in an LQ4 6.0 into the Firebird (95 m6). I want to keep the 6.0 cause 5.7 is my minimum displacement I feel comfortable with (I don't want to stroke a 5.3 and have it come back to bite me in the *** ) Also I want to put a Holset H2D mounted behind the radiator pass side. I know iron blocks hold boost well, and the dished pistons and 9.5:1 C/R. Would this work well? What heads and cam do you suggest? Do I need a K-member? What do I need to mount it to a T56? I also want to put an Edlebrock EFI Victor intake and a low profile elbow for the intake. Would it be more efficient to buy a short block or the entire assembly? I don't want to go over 1,200 for the engine alone.

Just buy a whole motor LQ4. And get a set of L92/LS3 heads and a carb intake for the square intake ports. And a cam speced for your needs. The heads run around $800 bucks each new complete online from a good supplier.
