Hey V peeps,

I just wanted to share my feedback on this ported & polished TB I just installed from a very honest & reputable eBay seller.

*TB looks incredible (I chose flat black & it looks awesome)
*Noticeable increase in throttle response
*Seller provides TB bypass kit material
*Easy install
*Refund for core provided

If anyone is looking for a ported & polished TB look no further!

Appears to have been ported past the critical line which these ETC throttles reverse the other way to control idle. That lip is required for accurate idle control.

Again, unless one changes the tune, this does nothing for overall performance.
Sure, 'better throttle' response, because you have now leaned out your tune. as throttle surface is a hard coded value the ECM calculates from ported increases this area value, but its not changed in the ECM. (so all light loads the ECM is slightly off)

I can easily change torque deliver and a few other tables to make your pedal response a ton better... without skewing calculations done by the ECM.

In the end, your LTITs and STITs have now drifted to maintain idle, your entire light throttle cruising will be slightly off (no mpg gain), and your WOT gains a hair more power due to leaning out. Sure looks pretty though.

I have done quite a few dyno runs on various throttles, ported, non, screen and descreened MAFs... bottom line.. not worth it, especially if you plan on modding further in the future... just causes tuning variances which require to be burned (improperly) into VE (or virtual) and/or MAF tables.

Buy an LS2 90mm and call it a day....
thats my opinion.

Sure does look pretty... I was told by my tuner to be careful about it as well because of the idle control, but that forced induction benefits from this... which is why I'm interested in doing this to mine

I mentioned this guy a while back. Affordable_Speed owns a shop back in the NW suburbs of Chicago where I used to live. He's one of the few people that is actually qualified to work on throttle bodies and rebuild their motors. He doesn't thin out the blade (which is what I hear is the leading cause of tuning problems), by the way. I had my car tuned by Ted Janetty (over 30 years of experience), and while his job improved my throttle response, having my LS2 throttle body ported significantly improved upon that. Idle quality is unchanged.

This is my new one vs. the old one:

i had nothing but problems when i did a ported 90mm throttle body. i had two of them go bad on me.. bought a brand new 90mm from gm and its been working beautifully. for the 2-5 hp max id rather not have the headaches

That's understandable. Most DIY porting instructions are inherently flawed and most porting shops don't understand what they're doing. Find a place that knows how to rebuild TBs from the ground up, or leave your TB alone.

2-5 HP is not why you port your throttle body. It's all about rate of change of airflow per unit time.
