Question 400 rwhp from stock ls6

ok, so i bought a ls6 out of a 04 z06 to drop in my 2000 z28. i'm hoping for close to 400 hp at the wheels with the small stuff i've go goin in with it.

parts goin in:
ported tbody
85mm maf
slp cold air intake
pacesetter long tubes
speed inc x-pipe

also i'm running a fully built 4l65e from monster with a 2500 stall and 3:73 gears. also the tune is either gonna be done by atlanta performance or lethal injection. so anybody think 400 at the wheels is possible with these mods?

Definitely possible to get close, my 03 Z06 dyno'ed around 390s RWHP with full bolt-ons. Is your exhaust setup a true dual setup? The auto will hurt you a little on the dyno though. If the motor is still out, why not drop a cam in? You should be able to find a smaller grind that work with your stall and gears.

Not going to happen, unless you go with just about every bolt on.

Lose the MAF
Get a FAST intake
Get an electric water pump
Get an underdrive pulley
Get better headers
Lose the stall
Get smaller numerically gears

Then you might hit 400 at the wheels.

As you stand right now with both the engine and drivetrain you won't come close, maybe hit 370ish

Not gonna happen through an auto without opening up the motor.

It will be fun to drive but your automatic Fbody is going to rob some of the dyno ponies that would be there on a vette.

You would be extremely lucky to get those numbers from a manual trans. I see you more in the 360-370rwhp range with the converter locked for the pulls.

There are cammed autos with stock 243 heads that don't make it over 400rwhp.

It won't come close unless it's a very happy dyno.

I made 370 on a mustang dyno through my auto with 3.42 gears (mods in sig) so that was probably around 385ish on a dynojet not that, that really matters. I think 360-370 on a mustang dyno or 380 on a dynojet is reasonable. Many z06 vettes make 390's even with their irs and ls6 swap fbods knock on 400 regularly so the only way i see 400 is with an m6.

I think with my bolts on in sig and m6 swap I'm doing now I'll be kissing close to 400. Again the dyno is just a number but its pretty cool to say you have that much power for something that sounds like a stock cam...

04 zo6 already has a 85mm MAF with no screen.

I'll guess 360whp, with a tune maybe 375whp

if you read gm high tech... the sti killer laid down 395/387 on a dyno jet with full bolt ons. Not sure about ported or aftermarket TB... I'm sure it has a tune too... being A4 car, expect 10rwhp less... but you can always make up using a FAST intake

3 dynos runs on a dynojet.... 1 broke 400, the other 2 were 390's

ls1 w/ ls6 block&intake (slp_ss)
tr224 with rods and springs
stock manifolds
6speed (m6)

If 243's with LT's through an A4 can out perform 241's with a mild cam with stock manifolds on an M6, you've got a good chance.

if i do deside to cam it before i drop it in, what would you guys recommend? i ran the ms3 cam in my last ls1 and liked it, but i think that cam would be too much for the 2500 stall i have in. but the torquer v2 looks like it might be a good cam for my set up

With a 2500 stall, I 'd stay away from the bigger cams. You will probably want to stay with a 224R, 224/230 cam. Anything smaller isn't worth it. If this car is going to be used for the street you should be ok. If you plan on dragstrip duty, may want to consider 3000-3500 stall. Do you run a trans cooler, definitely a must.

The good news is that the difference in 1/4 mile times is from 12.23 with 400 at the wheels to 12.55 with 370 at the wheels ,,,,,,,,,,,,not much of a difference .
