Default 799 heads with ls7 springs

I have a guy selling me a set of ported 799 heads that he said he will install some OEM LS7 springs he has. I am trying to put these heads on a LQ4 shortblock to get around 500 hp with proper cam. I read that these springs in this head will not work due to height of spring at rest compared to stock 799 springs. Any info is appreciated.

They are intended for a taller installed height than the 799's, so you'll run into bind issues sooner than if you ran any other "drop-in" spring. They also don't have any real decent pressure to control the average camshaft that would be running in 500rwhp combos. I'd advise you stay away from any of the stock GM springs!
