New LS1 Owners - Newbie Tech - chris1313 urgent hood latch question

I am in the middle of install, and it says to cut the hood latch, I tried to search but if I cut the hood latch the hood wouldn't stay Down? What do I have to do? Thanks guys

cut the hood latch at the top on the V portion...so you will make two small cuts to remove the lower part of the hood latch...the piece should resemble a V when removed...hood will still close and be plenty stong it has 4 other 10mm bolts holding it in place...
