Default 04 Yellow Jacket GTO

Hey everyone,
Just purchased an 04 A4 Yellow Jacket GTO from a fellow board member on here. All stock. I have JBA Mid Pipes on the way. Going to put a catback on her (Cant make up my mind yet), a CAI, SLP underdrive pulley, and have Rob Raymer tune her. It is not a DD but just a fun weekend car so I am not trying to get too crazy with it.

Thanks! I always wanted one since they came out in 04. So I graduated college and got a good job and saved all my cash. Finally got one!

Looks good. Did the 05/06 hood come on it stock or was it put on by the previous owner(s)?

Since he has the SAP Spoiler/Grille I am gonna guess it came factory since those 3 were considered the SAP package late into the 04 model year.

thanks everyone for the comments! Is there a way I can check to see if the car actually came with the SAP package? A reference code or something?

HA! Those pics didn't load or something the first time then, I wouldn't have sounded like such an idiot just then...

Nope, to my knowledge no "official" door code was given to 04s that came with the "sap" options for that year. There is a thread on ls1gto.com all about the SAP options some guy worked at a dealer back when it was new in 05 and he mentioned 04s got the option as well just no record of how many actually got it is known just the last few 04s out probably to push them off the lots with the 05s coming out.

Great looking Goat,
Mid-pipes wil help you out,a s the factory ones are probably the most restrictive part of the exhaust system.
I ran both JBA headers and the mids on my 05 and was happy with them while i had them.
Welcome.

Welcome to the club man! My 90 z24 had 290,000 on it and got a bad miss in 05.... So I started looking for a small 4 door, maybe suv but good on gas.....second day of Eco car shopping I drove my 04 GTO home lol I never have reverted buying it.....even though its going on 6 months being torn apart in the garage with a few small updates I miss it SO bad and can't wait to drive it again.

That's exactly it. They through the '05 hood hood, SAP grills, and SAP spoiler on the late '04 cars to get them off the lots.

OP, I would bet money on that being a SAP car. It's a shame that there's really no documentation on the '04 SAP cars. With proof, could be worth A LOT of money some day in the future.
Very clean car man. Congrats.
Now add the front fascia extension.

mid pipes were delivered today... what an experience..driver side manifold stud pulled out with the nut, and both front 02 sensors will be replaced. Got them out with heating from a torch but the threads were way too mangled to fit into the jba mid pipes
