Pontiac Firebird 1967-2002 - 2001 Firebird Power Window Problems

My driver's side power window motor went out years ago, had it replaced. It went out again - replaced it again. Then it wouldn't roll all the way up. Opened the door panel up to find that the part that actually holds the window in place was made of fiberglass or plastic. Has anyone else ever had that problem, or have any idea how to fix it??? Anything is appreciated.

Does the regulator neeed replaced? That's all I can think of at the moment but I believe that's metal, not plastic.
