Bolt on mach 1 pulls up next to me revs it. I'm like Oh shit. Obviously I was super scared. Fucking things are fast from what I read on here. So I approach him slowly and glance over and he's all like :cool:.

He says lets do this all dominic torreto style. I'm like alright man but this car only has 630rwhp, and 810rwhp my 150 shot... not sure if I can keep up. He says it'll be a good race then starts talking to his boyfriend next to him (assumed it was his bf b/c he has a mach1...valid assumptions are valid).

Anyway he beeps off. Fucking thing rockets forward i'm spinning and he's starting to put cars on me. I'm like nooo. In 3rd he has me by like 4 cars but I'm reeling in slowly and slowly. I then decide to spray and rocket foward but only so slightly could I reel him. In 5th I finally catch up but ever so slowly and put a fender on him.

Stopped to talk after. Guy was impressed I could catch him. Says he never loses. He had just came from killing a vortech srt8 jeep in a 1/4 mile race.

havent you heard? gears wake up a 4v HUGE. swapping to 4:56's takes them from a mid 13 sec 1\4 mile car to a mid 13 sec 4 mile car. he obviously must not have been running 4:56's otherwise there is no way you would have caught him and his b\f with a meager 800 rwhp.

You know, now that I think about it more. Maybe he wasn't taking it all the way to redline in each gear. Which made him lose momentum, and in turn made it so you were able to creep up to him ever so sloooowly.

I won't do that because my transmission in the Termy actually holds up unlike the new 5.0's... As far as being faster I have yet to see their taillights but I know there will be some out there that are faster than my DD. However, my WS6 will still show most its taillights and it is just an old 346 pushrod motor with a little P1SC pushing 8 psi... :burn:

On a serious note I think I will trade for an Evo since they are so badass. :bs:

I've had friends who drove SRT4's, C6's, and mustangs that came to my house for me to work on. They bring beer and I'll work on anything...even a Fiat.

I had a friend that ive never met in person before drive down from detroit (1200miles) just to have a built transmission put in his car and get it tuned on the dyno for his D1. He istalled it and drove it down without the belt on. Showed him around the french quarter made him eat gator, crawfish, and oysters. When it came time for him to go the car started leaking ps fluid. He had a line rubbin against the crank pulley. Full of beer and crawfish on a late sat evening we stole a line off of another car in the shop and went to work. Bad thing was the the ps pump was smack dab in the middle of the blower bracker. Had to take everything off. Finished at midnight.

El mero cameromarolerokero did come out yesterday with his TUNE only SS. he actually popped a 2ft wheelie... No where near the 3 footer of the mach1, but still pretty impressive from a tune only 4000lbs boat. They were neck and neck but in the end he got beat by the mach1. I think he's on par with my power level on spray with his tune.

I'm not doubting that STOCK Mach 1s will run low 13s with a competent driver. I’m sure that most, same as with the SRTs, are running worse than low 13s. Earlier in this thread, there were arguments where Mach drivers were claiming the typical runs were in the 12s. Contrary to popular belief, the SRTs are not easy to launch especially the autos. At least the manuals can feather out the clutch. The autos will just pour the power on. They simply have more torque than tire to support getting the weight moving. I feel like I’m on my old YZ250 two stroke when I’m driving. Not enough revs and it barely moves. Yet when it is in its power band on the launch, it immediately spins or starts to step out but still doesn’t move. LOL

No argument there. However, IMO, the avdantage has to go to the SRT just because I'm a sh*tty strip driver that took a stock 6.1 and went 12.85 on my first time to the strip. Granted I haven't been able to beat that time and have added roughly 55whp from the average stock SRT.

Like I have said before, If I had disposable income or a smaller family I would still be driving Mustangs.

So there I was, I had just left from getting my 50lbs nitrous bottle filled and was sitting at a 4 way stopsign waiting for a grandma to roll out from my left, when a robin egg blue flash caught my attention in my rearview mirror. The color brought cold chills down my spine as my brake foot went numb and a cold sweat engulfed me. struck by a fear that can not be explained "unless you have actually seen a Mach 1 that close" I slowly looked over to my left hoping I was mistaken but sure enough it was a mighty Mach 1. Now knowing that these things were as rare as bigfoot sightings I contemplated snapping a quick photo but realized I had to stay focused if I wanted to survive this deadly encounter.

I slowly reached behind the passenger seat not to bring any unwanted attention from the beast as my right hand trembled as I twisted the knob on the nitrous bottle. I could hear the lines fill and pressurize and knew I may only get this one shot at street racing glory. I was feeling lucky and knowing my new 2 gun setup was jetted for a full 500 shot I waited for his move. Now I knew that purging would show my hand so I waited for him to pull out and purged after he was about 2 cars in front. By the way this monster was camming I could tell this wasn't your everyday mustang and as he just idled off the line putting down 75 feet of rubber in first and almost going side ways shifting into second without even touching the gas my life flash infront of me.

We slow rolled up to 30 mph and I knew my only chance was a ricer jump, so I hammered it bringing on the first stage at 3500 my DR's were straining for traction as the 2nd stage came on at about 5500 I momentarily saw a gimmer of hope but my jump just wasn't enough. I heard the rap of his pipes and knew with only a 10 car jump he would get me in seconds.

As he passed me at about 65 mph his front tires only touched the ground as he speed shifted through all 5 gears. The force was so much on my car that it pushed me off the road into a ditch where I waited 4 hours for several tow trucks to pull my embedded Vette from it's muddy tomb. Fortunately I survived my encounter but it has left me scarred for life and I hope never meet up with another.

damn, my friend had a Mach 1 (orange too) and the car was so fast, he was scared to touch the man pedal after he dared venture off into no mans land. He had to settle for a SN95 5.0 to sleep easier at night.

damn, my friend had a Mach 1 (orange too) and the car was so fast, he was scared to touch the man pedal after he dared venture off into no mans land. He had to settle for a SN95 5.0 to sleep easier at night.

"It is not recommended that any person over the weight of 280lbs sit in seat while car is in motion. Doing so while at full throttle could result in the seat breaking from the g-force combined with the weight of the person. Injury or possible death could result."

Obviously if you add more power you have to take away weight to stay in the safe zone.

I had a friend that ive never met in person before drive down from detroit (1200miles) just to have a built transmission put in his car and get it tuned on the dyno for his D1. He istalled it and drove it down without the belt on. Showed him around the french quarter made him eat gator, crawfish, and oysters. When it came time for him to go the car started leaking ps fluid. He had a line rubbin against the crank pulley. Full of beer and crawfish on a late sat evening we stole a line off of another car in the shop and went to work. Bad thing was the the ps pump was smack dab in the middle of the blower bracker. Had to take everything off. Finished at midnight.

I love crawfish, I lived in Lousianna for a few years as well as Alabama for about 8 years of my childhood. I miss the southern cooking. Crawfish, boiled peanuts, gumbo ect.
