Default Dont know what to do with my lt1! stuck by options

Alright guys here it is as some of you know i blew a head gasket and well my heads are warped to get them fixed, parts and labor will be around 600-700 bucks,..........my cousin offered me his 383 with afr heads for 800 bucks with only 1000 miles or so on it the car it was in was making close to 500 or so ran 10's but, i dunno what do... both engines are 95's and well i will have to get a bigger stall about 3200-3500 stall but im not going to race it much its going to more of a show car and every once and awhile take it to the track...........
what will my gas milage be?
should i just get the engine and go 383?
or just fix the heads?

If the motors legit seems like a no brainer to me. You could always sell your old motor to offset the cost some.

Get it....$800 is a steal; even just the heads are worth more than that. Probably will need a built trans though or you might be shopping for one of those soon enough. And don't put sticky tires on it or boom goes the 10 bolt

Whats the compression and cam in of the 383, if its reasonable pump gas compression and a cam with acceptable manners , then yea , buy a converter and slap it in. Does it come with the injectors that he ran it with? Is your fuel system and exhaust system up to par?

LoL Get the 383 If it has a cast crank Rebuild your stock bottom end & put that top end on it If its a all forged 383 put that in & if you dont like the milage install a smaller cam AFRs are worth 2 1/2 times the asking price of 800 Youll kick your own *** over that lol

i forgot the compression but it was high lol . The Transmission was a rebuilt 4l60e off a t/a supposedly with stronger internals so im guessing if im going to take it calm putting the stall and calling it for awhile would be fine? i forgot the cam size but would a 3200-3500 be enough ? and anyone have one for sale
