Street Racing & Kill Stories - Killed a suped up Evo 8 with my intake exhaust Ls1 Z28

I was cruising to work today on the highway this morning. It was about 5:30am and I came across a lone 70 dodge charger RT. I pulled up next to him and tried to pull a race out of him but he was uninterrested so I drove on. 10 minutes later I notice.d an EVO trying the same thing I had with the charger and again the charger refused so the EVO moved up to me (guess he heard the exhaust). He paced me and I got to see he had an exhaust, rollcage, race seat, and blowoff, at least. He eventually waved his hand in a "go" gesture at 70mph and he went. My auto had a moment of lag while downshifting and by the time I was on it he was a car and a half out front. I was pacing him to 90 and by 105 we were even. He finally had to shift and he slipped further (I had been in 3rd the whole time) and by the time I was at 140mph he was 4 cars back. After that he never approached my car again. Win :cool:

I'm just being an ass because of the "open season on V8s" thread where the Evo owner refused to run beyond 4th gear.

I just loved the fact that the EVO was so confident that he would wipe the street with me that he didn't even look at me at all before the race. He just pointed at the open road and nailed it lol

That seems to be common with Evos until they reach a certain power level or get boost by gear or whatever it is they use. At least 4 local stock turbo (8 or 9) Evos I know of have said they only like to run to the top of 4th. One had an FP black and didn't click 5th until he made 600+ awhp. Another FP Black Evo blew up his stock block trying to run a certain Z-car.

I think its funny that you came to this conclusion from the seat of your own car while this guy was in a totally different lane in HIS own car. You make it sound like he was a total asshole to you, but in reality you've never spoken a work to each other. Maybe he didnt look at you because he was at 70mph on a highway...just saying.

5th gear absolutely sucks in the Evo's. I was trapping 130+ and got faster time letting it bounce off the limiter at 8500+rpm's then try and shift into 5th gear.

I didnt even know a bolt on ls1 could hit 140 lol, better get some zzzzzzzzz rated tires lmfao
