Default If Holley fixes the "coil issue", then...

I heard (actually saw a post here) that the "coil issue" has been fixed.

If that is so, then which coil is actually better from a power standpoint?

Forget user friendly, individual cyl. timing, etc. for this conversation. Which coil (stock or the holley) will provide the hottest spark?

I would think if you called a company and asked them if there aftermarket product they make is better then the stock part they will say "of course, its much better" regardless of the truth. Of course this would be the case with any vendor, not just the folks from holey. Thats my 2 cents.

An apparent redesign of the pcm circuit board was required from whats been said on the forums.

But the coil issue only presented itself under boosted applications over 12psi from what i have read.

I would expect people only buy the Holley for 20 plus lbs since the stock computer does pretty damn good for alot less money.

People buy the holley because it does a far better job than the stock pcm... For NA and low boost cars the same... You don't have to have high boost to need or want a holley

The stock pcm actually sucks even with a custom os...
No AFR correction at WOT is a serious flaw in the stock pcm OS.

The Holley Ls coil issue is not limited to boost... It's anything that creates high cylinder pressures...
Do a 350 shot of giggle juice and you will see the issue too...ask me how I know

There are many other coils that do better than the LS coils....and don't have the issue with the older holley hardware...
IGN-1a is a popular one...
The holley waste fire coils are great...
Firecore has a hot rodded IGN-1 coil as does Pantera EFI.....
And the list for a on

You seem to be one of the guys that seems to be in the loop on these systems.
