so this guy who lives down the street is a real nice guy. His in to cars and has a AWD talon that is way fast. but he is wanting me to run his 99 3.8 V6 mustang.

Well he has a CAI, shortie headers, a chery bomb glass pack ... and a 100 shot of nitrous.

Fwiw I put 2+ cars on a bolt on + 75shot 95 GT in my stock SS. I think your LT1 should have it covered..hr might be like 250hp at best?

the 3.8 has 190hp stock ... add a 100 shot and your at 290 ... and his car is a lighter than a F-body (3,050 lbs ish)

before the stall and x pipe i did 287hp to the rear tires and 313tq ... i have a 100 shot myself but it is not even close if i were to do that. he called me out my motor to his spray.

so we will see. i just dont want to get beat by a v6 stang

Tell him you will run the race on motor he wants if he will run spray for spray. I think you will pimp slap him both times.

I wouldn't really be all that worried about it.

I've seen bolt on LT1 cars run with GTs on nitrous.

we find out today

Coming from a a mustang guy and a ex v6 mustang owner i can give you some insight. my 03 stock dynoed 168 whp. With full exhaust and intake 193whp/225tq. So on a 100 shot it would potentially put right at 300whp/and 350-370tq.

When i converted my 03 v6 with a 4.6 DOHC with vortech blower the car weighted in at 3200 lbs because with the only weight reduction being no front sway bar and no spare tire. So a v6 should be be 3100-3300 lbs depending on options.

You should be able to pull him but don't completely rule it out as a win. i have seen a full exhaust, CAI, gear and nitrous v6 do 12.1 on tires with stock motor, stock trans, stock clutch, stock heads and stock cam.

well yesterday I went to "Small Town Weekend" and did some LEGAL street racing. well my friend brought his talon and on the first pass he blew his head gasket. He dont have a boost controler. so if/when he goes WOT the car shoots to 28psi and lifts the head. (he has APR head bolts to fix this but that is a long story) well on our first pass we race and he gets nervous and sees me right beside him after a good AWD Launch by him. he then floors it and at some point in the race the head gasket blows. non the less, once that is fixed and he has a boost controller. I should have my colder plugs and tune for 100 shot of nitrous. i think i can take him.
