Need advice on my 6.0 build
Okay I'm building a 6.0 here are the plans Street/ strip weekend warrior kind of car.
Here are my questions for this build, CID 370,390,or a 408? Next should I go EFI or carb with front mount distributor? Now as for the fuel I pretty stuck on e85 but if you guys have any pros and cons or advice on fuel that would be awesome.
Now the power adder I kno I want to go forced induction so for the procharger I was thing f1r and the turbo how do you guys feel about a big single on this combo, also tranny will be a fully built 4l80,goal is make about 1000+hp

Can the stock computer handle this I was thinking I was goin to have to buy an aftermarket engine management system BS3, EFI xfi live. Is the stock computer able to handle this

You will need to tune it, or have it tuned, but there again I run and recomend Hptuners.....its $649 for the pro version, which is what you will want...it comes with 8 credits when you buy the software and on an n/a car like mine it takes two credits to marry your computer. On FI setups it costs 3 or 4 credits and that gives you the option of 2,3, or 4 bar setting for FI. Once you marry the computer you can go in and tune and retune all you want....like in my case there are 3 of us sharing the the same profane key for 4 cars...then if you want to tune more cars and run out of credits you can buy them at $50 a credit.
The stock GM ecu is amazingly versatile and user friendly with Hptuners. Your best option is if you can get a 2000-2004 ecu and harness...if you get an 04 GTO harness and computer I have all the pin outs and info to turn it into a standalone (which is what I'm doing) if this isn't already going in a newer GM vehicle.
Just curious, what is the motor going in?

The motor is goin into a 2001 trans am, I'll be honest I never knew the stock computer could go that far I had already figured a BS3 into the budget but now to kno I don't have to is a huge relief

Ok cool then, you are good to go with your stock ecu, dtock harness and evetything, just need bigger injectors and a nice twin fuel pump setup....I've seen some nice ones were guys ran a larger supply line and used the original line for a return.

I think you will like a 408 + pt88 I remember watching a youtube video of a camaro with a 408 and an 88 turbo and it was fast as sh*t it street raced alot of cars and won everyone.
But you have to be careful with e85 its very notorious for eating up tanks and fuel lines.

I run and work on bike, gocarts and stuff like that that sit for long periods of time and have tore down and cleaned the green powder out countless carbs, some that only era for a few weeks after running on the standard "up to" 10% ethonal....I'd hate to have to clean up after 85% lol
