ls6 intake (if you can get it for $300-350) is bang for buck

BBK is slightly better (approx 5hp) and slightly more expensive, it is also aluminum and there is a myth around them about heatsoak (I have yet to see any proof in all my years here)

Fast 90/92 is best but $$$ because people believe another bullshit myth that a 102 is "too big"

Fast 102 is even better but is $$$ and needs other parts to work (fuel rails etc)

The ls2 intake needs parts to work and flows less stock than the ls6 intake. Ported they are reported to gain some but IMO not enough to be worth the trouble when better options are out there.
Never heard anything good about the Typhoon/Professional Products/ebay intakes, but constantly hear of people having trouble with them leaking. Do your research, I could be wrong on that intake design.

+1.. I would spend the 300 or 400 on an LS6 intake and put the rest of your money into other areas until the intake become a bottleneck.

also depending on the year your car is 01/02 had the LS6 intake stock and its not worth an upgrade.

IMO i would go with the BBK if your not going to dump money into a FAST, unless you find a LS6 intake for dirt cheap. People think they are cast out of gold.

Not trying to get into the whole debate again. Just my .02$

The ls6 is a proven performer. Bbks metal intake gets way too many mixed reviews on here.

Budget - ls6

Best if you plan on making over 450rw -fast

ls6 for sure just put one on my 98z28 can defiantly feel it pull harder on the top end and works even better if you put of set of headers on and a lid or FTRA air intake, but i grabbed mine for 300 bucks and it was for sure worth it...

Do the LS6 if your on a budget,by the time you buy all the "extras" you need like a new OPSU,Knock Sensors,KS Harness,Gaskets, vent tubes and fix your rotting PCV system your at $500-$600.

You may as well do it right while your in there these cars have 13/14 years on them and 100k miles.

fo most applications except the guys running crazy horsepower or huge amounts of boost, the factory LS6 intake has to be the best bang for the buck

I heard some guys here making north of 450 rwhp with ls6 intake, so imo they're the best bang for the buck out there.

Here's what I'd do:
Chrs1313 ram air
ftp 98mm lid
85mm MAF from truck or z06
Stock ported TB
LS6 intake

Bottom line: You have a 1999, with the LS1 intake. Go with a BBK and a matching TB. LMPerformance is having a sale on them right now if you want a new one, $719.99 for the manifold and the tb together.

Heatsoak is BS as far as performance really goes. The air is moving so fast it really doesn't matter. Yeah metal will stay hotter longer but think about it, the block is metal, the heads are metal, it's not going to matter if the intake is metal.

Anything but a LS6 IMO. For mot much more money there are better manifolds out there. Look for a used FAST 78 or BBK. They go for around $400

Can't go wrong with the LS6 intake.
