I have a MS4 cam that I thought about putting in my M6 02 formula. If I use this cam I will need gears. The thing is,my car is a DD and I live in Alabama so there is no winter storage. With it being a DD I don't run drag radial's. I'm thinking with 4.10's and this cam street tires will be useless.
Should I go smaller cam and keep the 3.42's for everyday driving?

I daily drive my 4.11 9" rear end with a 225/229 cam. I've been on multiple long trips back and forth. 4.11's really do not lose any streetability in my opinion. In fact, I'm positive my gas mileage has improved on highway trips because in 6th gear, at highway normal speed it must put the RPMs in a more efficient zone. I run 315/35/18 Toyo Proxes TQ drag radials year round, even been in rain and snow. Just don't drive like a moron and don't speed, and you will be OK.

Do a GOOD cam and 4.11s and don't look back. Just because the cam is BIG doesn't mean it's going to run how you want it to. The MS4 is proven to run, but in a stock head, stock cube LS1, the MS4 needs pretty much 5000+ RPM to make it's power shine. Consider that.

I personally wouldn't want that cam in a DD. Stock rear with a smaller cam would be better on a street car IMO.
