So I always wondered why the heck GM didn't do better on giving us (98-02 Camaro owners) brighter fog lights...

I hate the fact that instead of using real projector fogs they made some crappy ass fogs with a shield inside to give them the projector look. I ended up opening the fog lights by removing the lens with a small flat head screw driver (ones to open up watches with) be very careful because the lens can easily crack (use a heat gun if you have one in handy), then remove all the silicon with a razor blade. I would recomend since the lense is out clean it with some meguiars ultimate compound, then there's a shield in the middle inside the fog light, all you have to do is push it in from the sides and it should pop out,*also what i would recommend would be to go to any auto zone or even on Amazon.com and buy one of those aerosol chrome paint cans and spray the inside* no matter what it will be brighter since you will be removing the shield that blocks off light output. after you do the last steps just simply apply clear silicon or use a silicon glue gun... all done, try it out and post up your results and feedback on here. yeah ill upload them when i get home, i have some before and after, keep in mind you will loose the straight "projection" output the fogs give. its worth it in my opinion.

i tried sanding it with a 500 grit but didn't do much so then i sand it a bit with a 1500 and buffed the heck out of it, came out how it was before so i left that alone

This mod is blast from the past. Good to see people still getting the most out of ours cars as possible. Also look up the low beam/high beam mod, if you haven't already. The low beam stays on when the highs are activated.

yeah thanks bro, (i searched for something like this, never found anything) ill pass on the highs and lows staying on together since cops are dicks out where i live and get anyone with HID low beams so i keep the highs on stock bulbs. thanks again.

Looks good, big improvement. I was planning on replacing my fogs for some projectors but this looks alot easier.

Im sure there is more light but the purpose of that cross bar is to give you a nice Light pattern.

Now it just seems like you have scattered light.
