Default question on top feed fuel pickup

my fuel cell is a top feed with a pickup hose and I am using an external pump and filter. will this cause any problems with a large pump supplying a large volume of fuel? I have a plastic cell so I can't add a sump, but I can add a bulkhead fitting near the bottom. would it be worth it? looking to do around 550-600 whp on pump gas if that helps

External pumps do not like to draw fuel from the tank. The pump should be located lower than the tank & the pickup should come out of the bottom.

As for your combination... why are you trying to run an external pump for your power level. There are many easier & cheaper ways to support your power level.

Feel free to call if you want to discuss a fuel system that will work without problems.

I am running external because it is by far the simplest. it is in my 5.3 swapped 68 truck and i have a plastic RCI 12 gallon cell. so if I have to swap to an in-tank I will have to change fuel cells as well
