Car is a 2001 WS6 6 spped car with 12 bolt 3.73 gear

TSP 408 11.5:1 compression
LS3 CNC heads
LS3 intake
238/244 112LSA cam
Nick Williams TB
108mm FTP lid
TSP 100mm MAF
Hooker 1 3/4 headers

I wish I could get the tq number up a bit...maybe the headers?

I will post graph later....I cannot upload for some reason right now.

Nice numbers! I am having a 408 built and I hope that I can get results like that. That should be a fun car to drive.

A set of TFS 235s, FAST 102mm & 1 7/8 LTs would help out your combo bigtime. Id guess 540/500 with that setup. Not cheap though.

I agree.

But why not keep the car as is? You have a 500rwhp monster. Any track times yet?

Congrats on the numbers. Very respectable numbers for being on a Mustang Dyno.

no track times.

The heads fast 102 is not happening. I will do a D1/F1A in the future:cool:

I agree with keeping the motor as is but I'd simply just put a nice quality nitrous kit on the car and you'll be more than happy with it.

No reason to switch to TFS unless it's preferance, headers could be bigger, SD tune and a bigger cam with a touch more exhaust duration would of made a Lil more hp n tq in my personal opinion. Is it an aluminum block or iron block 6.0?

Must be an Iron if it is 408 ci, Alum 6.0 gets you 402 ci
Bigger cam would do the opposite of what you describe (especially with more exhaust duration)

Like stated before that is very respectful for a Mustang dyno. Who spec'd the cam?

JC70SS
06-01-2012, 04:12 PM
It is an LQ9 block. John at Texas Speed specd it.

Yes I have been thinking possibly about a 125 dry shot as a possibility too.

Nice numbers. I may end up doing something similar, but i wanna build a 408 with trick flow 235's and fast 102 really. Also a bigger cam.

You will love the torque then lol

Not trying to argue bud, just want to know why you say the opposite?

Gab at Comp was explaining to me the opposite with Ls3 heads.

If the Mustang is as calibrated by Mustang.........Very Nice! It would be 550 RW on a DJ.

Stout!

dude leave the car is and enjoy it. no point in dumping thousands of dollars to get another 20-40 rwhp unless you have money to blow. if that's the case, share the wealth!

that car probably makes close to 550 rwhp on a dynojet and in all honesty has a very streetable cam for that size of a motor.

What's your exhaust set-up after the headers?
Looks like a strong combo!

pace off road Y into magnaflow 3" stainless catback.

"If" you just have to change something.... I would go to 1 7/8 headers and maybe have the intake port matched if you have not already. The 125 dry shot would be a home run , you would probley pick up 175-200rwtq with that depending on how soon you would bring it on.

Td would give you more power all over and more tq.

Good numbers man Congrats..
Call TSP for 1.7/8 headers and then Fast 102 :D

I say 520-530rwhp on mustang dyno

Nice numbers! I finally got mine figured out too. I have a very similar build but I have l92 heads, fast102 setup , similar cam but on a 115lsa. I have it at 10.2-1 compression for when I put the blower on it. Still a blast to drive NA tho

You have very stout numbers? But how come all these LS3 guys are claiming they can touch 600rwhp? When yours is setup nicely and you have more cubes and got 500rwhp? granted you could change headers and put the fast on it and pickup abit

JC70SS

maybe with top of the line heads, fast, headers and every imaginable bolt on such as UD pulley?? 600rwhp is still not very believable on an LS3.

pace off road Y into magnaflow 3" stainless catback.

1 7/8, 3" Y, 4" Mufflex and you will see hp/tq gains everywhere. Sell ur stuff to justify the upgrade. :). Great numbers though!

Man, get rid of that pacesetter y or weld a flowmaster y in it. Them pacesetter y's are funky.

in for posting the dyno graph.

I would get 1 7/8 headers and a better flowing ypipe (keep your catback) with a 25% UD pulley and dyno it on a dynojet and leave it be.... Don't go to crazy bc they you will hate the car

My 429 ls3 made 674 to the motor. Its on 10.5 to 1 compression ls9 lingenfleter heads .630 cam fast 102/102 would make close to 600 rwhp

I was saying stock displacement LS3 not a stroker.

Mazzenger

Maybe a new y-pipe and a cutout. I picked up 12hp with my cutout open. I also have a bullet style muffler right after my y-pipe and before my cut-out.

O. I know you cam you just have to have the right set up. You can get 503 rwhp out of a ls1. Mamo did it.

Run cut outs rite off the back off your headers, i would get some 1 7/8 though.

If any exhaust change up. I personally would go with stepped headers 13/4 to 17/8 tjeb look into tsp true duals . The paceatter y pipe known to be not good merge and there is power and torque being held back there. Looks like a strong setup congrats!

WheelsUp84z
06-17-2012, 01:53 PM
My 402 with the same setup (11.5:1 402 and CNC LS3 heads) but with a 244/256 cam on a 114 lsa and 1 7/8 ARH headers and 3" tsp true duals put down 554/510 (dynojet numbers)

bigger headers for sure. then add that f1-a to it..and lower that CR, and run some good gas. that will turn into 900+ real quick with the right fuel.

You are Making Really Nice Average HP and TQ! its not all about Peak hp and peak tq! If you add more exhaust Duration you might pick up power above 5000 but not below it and imho That cam you have is giving you a very nice "have your cake and eat it too" power curve so i'd leave it alone and optimise the rest of the car it will take some getting use to that much power!
