lt1 question for a new mwmber
alright i have a 94 v6 which is basically my dd to work only 3 miles away anyways my machine shop has a dynoed 420HP 383 lt1 with 3800 stall ecu long tube and 4.10 gears he said he will do a complete swap for $2500...now i have found a 94 z28 thats supercharged has a programmer nitrous headers 4.10s underdrive pulley 2 ecus weld rims and M/T drag radials for $3000.. my question is which would be the better setup with out the fact im getting the whole car just performance wise which would be better

check the conditon of the s/c 94 make sure u do it real good the inspecion of the motor. ..if its good.buy it.keep ur dd.and have a week end toy.or u can always sell ur v6 have the extra cash..

And if you're talking about which one is in better condition, probably the 383 stroker over the LT1 that's just supercharged. To the OP, supercharging a motor almost cuts it's life in half especially if it's a stock motor..not that you probably didn't already know that, but if the 383 has been used for some time and the s/c motor is fresh...then it's all up to you on that. But i'd say 383 all day, you can always just supercharge an engine. You can't always just build a 383 as easy as you can supercharge an engine.

I would go for the 383. If it was built by them then you know it was professionally built. If the other one is a stock motor with a supercharger, nitrous, exhaust...NO WAY! You know the owner did those adds for quick, fast power instead of properly building an engine to handle a power adder.
Besides, I feel it has more testosterone if its all motor than having to be forced with power.
