Stereo & Electronics - Looking for subs and need help.

I've been wanting subs in my car for a long time and I'm saving money for a good system. I'm wanting 15 inch because it seams like everyone starts with 12's lol. Does anyone know of good subs and the rest that i'll need for around 500-600$? I could go with 12's but I want them to slam nice. I don't want to have to worry about them being underpowered. I'm not sure of exactly what I'm looking for but any help would be appreciated. :)

Honestly that's going to be tough to do. What type of enclosure do you want? Are you going to build it yourself? Probably get a wiring kit off eBay or Amazon cheap and look for an amp on there too. Need to choose subs first though.

I'm liking these ones. But I'm lost when it comes to voltage and what not. I'd rather buy the box already made.

i wouldnt go with 15's.....12s hit more bass ranges while 10s will hit even more.....buy a nice 10 or 12 and be done with it.....i had 1 12" alpine type r 12 in my vert and it hit very hard :D

having owned 10's, 12's, a 15, hell even some cheap 8's at one point, the size sub really depends on the type of music you listen to. 10's are better for fast "punchy" bass, ie speed metal type music where 15's are great for hitting the low vibrating types of bass, which is why most people run 12's are they are a nice balance between the 2. price wise (reputable online stores anyway) for a decent amp kit with only OFC wiring (not the cheap Aluminum or severely under sized cables, not all wiring is created equal, READ reviews) your looking about 60-80 bucks for a 4 gauge kit, budget another 150 or so for an amp doesn't leave much for subs unless your building your own box.

I just looked real quick for a box for our cars that will hold 2 15's and I didn't even see one. Custom build may be your only option and that would probably consume your whole budget. May really want to consider 2 12's. I loved my 15's I used to have though. The boxes I saw for 2 12's were in the 200-300 range.
