Default 1986 Elcamino Project-Pending 2006 GTO LS2-6 speed

1986 Elcamino Project-Pending 2006 GTO LS2-6 speed install

Time to start gathering parts for the conversion.

I plan to use a Ford 9 inch with the LE brakes from a GTA, 373 0r 411 with a detroit locker. When I talked to the GM techs at the SEMA show they suggested the GM wiring harness for the install.

I have a FI gas tank from a Impala - should bolt right in.

Any suggestion for engine mounts or wiring would be a great help !!

I dont believe the GM Harness will work for the 2006 LS2 24X setup. Are you going to be keeping the drive by wire or going drive by cable?

By the way, welcome to the 86 El Camino Club! : )

Default Wiring

I talked to the GM Tech at the SEMA Show, they have a performance wiring harness that will work, might have to change the crank sensor. Or I could send the factory harness out for conversion. Looking into oil pans (CTVS) & engine mounts. My elky is lowered!!

Mounts

CTS-V oil pan

Both of the above I used in my 86 Elky. We have a harness too, but would need to know if you are sticking with DBW or going DBC.

Did you have to notch your k-member with the ctsv pan? Is it a better fit than the fbody pan?
