Hello Gang,

I have the opportunity to purchase an LS1 Engine complete, that was literally taken out of a New 2002 SS Camaro in the same month that it was purchased. The engine has been sitting in a climate controlled garage since 2002. The engine has 150 miles on it.

What`s it worth?

Thank You,
Dan

On average with other LS motors, maybe a few hundred more since it may have documented proof of milage.

The only issue for the seller is that there has been further improvement in the LS realm and you have cars out there with LS2 and LS4 Pullouts which make the LS1 look not as desirable as they were bout 10 years ago. Meaning it wont command as much $$$.

Normally I see 3,000 for a LS1 / T-56 pull outs and they have milage and the T-56 by itself can be a 1400-1700 transmission.

Start looking in the forsale section, craigslist, and ebay for better ideas.

I just sold a complete 98' LS1 with 32k miles. I included the motor, computer, wiring harness, all front accessories, starter, etc etc for $2600.

Certainly offer what you feel comfortable with but start at $4,000 and see what happens. Use prices like these for comparison:

Paid 3500 for one with 27k on it with M6 harness ecu all the accessories including fan and rad with it shipped to the depot. I wouldnt go to much higher than that maybe 4k tops, you can get drop outs all over if you look. Whats the real difference in a stock motor with 150 on it and one with 30k? I'll take the 30k seasoned motor. Hope he rolled it over and kept it lubed up.
