Default car smokes, what could it be...

so the only time my car will smoke is when im decelerating and slowing down. its not all the time but after running it hard. the car is high mileage and doesnt smoke on acceleration or idling. only after i come to a stop then it puffs for a second and clears up. 170K miles, 50psi oil pressure. original heads and valve seals. pcv valve is new also.

thats what im leaning towards but wanted some thoughts before jumping into this. might try to make it a cam, lifter and head swap while doing it. I have a set of 853s and from what i gather they flow the same as the 241s that are on my car now. the difference being how they were cast or molded.

They dont flow as good but are close. Dont do a heads cam swap on 170k motor get it rebuilt first.

Any oil consumption between changes? It could indeed be the valve seals, it could also be some blow by from the rings if it's a real high mileage engine like you say. Try new valve seals first and see if that does it for you. If it doesn't it may be your rings and you might have to start thinking about a rebuild.

i really dont think there is much blow by w the rings. I would have smoke under acceleration if so. or I would think.
