Thats actually a really good question. I believe it is competitive for alot of pro 5.0 cars but not the fastest of them by any means.

The fastest "F-Body" time is 8.52 @ 163, but that is a 3600 lb. car with a C5R motor, not an LS1 motor. What do the 5.0 Mustangs weigh and run?

There are dozens of "F-bodies" running faster than that!

Pat Musi runs 6's in his 99(98?) pro-street firebird.

more then likely though, it is not ls1 BLOCK i presume. I have not looked at anything built by pat Musi in a while. But if i recall his firebird is powered by one of his Known big blocks on a huge mess of spray!

Ronnie Duke is the name of the c5-r powered TA that weighs actually just at 3700lbs i believe. 8.5 at 162. if he ever decided to lose some weight on the car, it would really do some damage!

The site, thread and my post are dedicated to LT1 and LS1 cars' times. Pat Musi runs a nitrous BBC, which is not related to this topic in any way, and neither is my BBc Firebird which runs high 7s.

The thread question seems to be, how do LT1/LS1 times compare to 5.0 Mustang times, and think the answer is that many turbo Mustangs run 8s and probably 7s.

He never said 4th gen, or LT1/LS1. He said F-body.

My example had a motor swap.

Your example used a motor that didn't come in an F-body, and its right?

LOL

he thread question seems to be
You know what they say about assumptions.

the fastest f-body is the convertible black t/a in hot rod magazine under the fastest ls1 period title. it was at the thunder shootout last year. that is with a ls1/ls6/c5r motor opiton im sure there are much faster ones that have other motors

Well, if we use the above "F-body" logic then fastest ET is Ron Capps' 2003 Skoal Camaro at 4.75 sec. (unfortunately the Mustangs are still faster...)

This site is all about 3rd and 4th gen FI GM stuff. BTW, my car is or will be the fastest such car.

Remember, the W2W car is very cool and fast, but is no more an LS1 than is a 1st gen SBC. I love saying that, because it always draws a wide range of responses from the troops.

I would love to see him build one. IMO, we'd see the first 7 second LS1 if he did.

Ronnie Duke is the fastest currently. He's a sponsor...
